My baby is now one years old. I am sure it's o.k. to give him pasta. But, what kinds are best? And, do I should I cut it up even further so he dosn't choke?

If you buy the little jars of baby food, you'd probably notice that most if them are pasta. Instead of buying the little jars, make it at home. Look for Stelle or little star shaped pasta in the pasta aisle at your local supermarket. These are very small in size and it is worth buying if you hate cutting up spaghetti. Add different sauces and meat and vegetables for variety. My twins love it and it saves me time from cutting spaghetti.

Plain whole wheat pasta is the best!!!! You really don't need to put anything on it because that will just make more cleanup time for you. When he starts using a spoon, then add sauce, (veggie are easy to hide in a sauce). Most of all, let him have fun with it.
Spaghetti, zitini(small ziti) penne. He will love the different shapes...

I give my son who is seven months pasta all the time. He has never choked. I give him shells, bow ties, or penne. They do not have anything on them but I still think it's good for him to learn to chew. I use whole grain pasta only!

Start with good old macaroni and cheese. And don't cut it up, how will he learn to chew?
