I work in a hospital laboratory, and I am doubting that you might be referring to the CRP exam.
CRP, which stands for C-reactive protein, when elevated is a marker for inflammation, and/or infection. Doctors request this test when they are suspecting cardiovascular diseases, and/or rheumatoid arthritis. Please note that this test in non-specific, so expect that there are other examinations that are requested together with it, to better achieve a accurate diagnosis.
If it is really an ERP test, then it is not a routine exam, and then I need to check the directory of lab exams.
