What changes would you like to see in American society? What needs to be removed, what needs to be added? What segments of society would be affected? How would this change American life, culture and law?

As a Christian, I can identify things that should be eliminated, like pornography, drunkenness, greed and corruption. What do you see as the most pressing issues? I am trying to find areas where we can work together to change America for the better.

This question is directed to Muslims, everybody please allow them to answer. There will be a follow-up question for non-Muslims. Criticism of the question, or responses that do not pertain to the question will result in the same persons' responses to the follow-up question being eliminated from consideration for actual implementation.

More details may be added for clarification as required.

Hater's response focused on what should be done outside of America, I asked what should be done inside America.

Once again, AK replied in terms of changes in American foreign policy, when I was asking about changes in American culture and Americans' personal behavior.

Gsumayaa and ATK, once again, I have no influence on foreign policy. I am looking for things that can be implemented on the personal level. All the people mentioned so far have not answered the question that was asked, but a different question; one that was not asked.

backstree and 48034 have good answers, but 48034 is more detailed.

Please understand that Christians in America are encouraging others here to give up the misuse of sex, the abuse of alcohol and drugs, greed, injustice and other evils.

We respectfully request that you would do whatever you can in your own society to prevent those who would attack Americans from doing so, and we will do whatever we can in our own society to lead those who walk in those sins out of them and into the path that leads to life.

We will do this no matter how much they sneer at us, or use law to prevent us, or harm us or kill us. If we fail here, then it may someday be up to you to stop them. But we respectfully request that you would be patient with us and give us time to work, as you work to prevent violence against America. Please make all Muslims everywhere aware of this. Thank you.

looking at women as a sex sells need to be stop, such as in pornography, magazines, Hooters, strip clubs...etc. women are not for sex sells. women in Islam should be like the diamond, cannot be touched or seeing parts of her body except with a permission from what God has given, and i am assure that my christian friends will agree as well.

Sterotypes and racisim need to be stop. we all have one color which is the color of blood that run in our neves. we did not chose the color of our skins, neither ur nationality, neither ur mother or father. we belong to one nation, the servents of God.

we need to destroy the image of greediness which is "my money is my money". help the poor, ur neighbour, kind toward the orphans.

influence women that to be a woman, and men to be men. not to make movies to encourage them to be gays or lesbians, make a woman understand that by listening and obeying her husband, that does not mean that her man is controling her. a man and woman have responsibilities toward each other.

support society to take a strong step toward family structure. make family connection more stronger. tender toward the parents is very important.

make marriage little bit easier, and sex out of marriage little bit harder.

America was a tolerant country where Muslims live and follow their religion before 9/11. This is changed after 9/11 when American started seeing Muslims as their enemy and terrorists because of Bush administration policies and thanks to news network 24/7 propaganda against Islam and Muslims.

I would like to change a change in American foreign policies which support all Israel actions unconditionally. I would like to see a change in American policy to stop support the corrupt rulers in all the Muslim dominated countries. The problem is that people don't listen to the voices of reason and wisdom when Howard Dean suggested that America must deal with Israel and Palestinine issue even handedly, he was blasted off with news media and Joe Lieberman without really understanding the benefits of this policy. I also would like to see more awareness and eduction in American population which will help them elect the right candidates instead of going with the flow of media propaganda.

You mentioned greed, pornography alcohol and corruption which is not a big issue to me because it is much better than what the Muslim countries. One can aviod pornography alcohol and greed.

I think the biggest obstacle to a healthy American society is it's foreign policy overseas. It's really making us unsafe, hated, and presents a ugly face of America to foreign countries and foreigners. On a national level, I think it's great your reaching out to Muslims, interfaith dialogs are most healthy for a better America. Perhaps we could work together to pass laws that counter corruption. Look after the poor and the weak. Better schools for them, heath care, job opportunities, ... I think rich people owe more to the poor, they shouldn't be getting more rich while others get more poor. I'd like Americans to open up more towards Muslims, so to eliminate fears and stereotypes. It's hard to feel unwelcome in your own country anymore. We could help in sharing our values and morals and what we do to abstain from drinking alcohol, using drugs, abusing sex, ...stuff Muslims and Non-Muslims can benifit from hearing. Getting together and knowing what we have in common will strengthen our society and common interests.

First would be definetely it's foreign policy. US keeps supplying Israel with tons and tons of bombs, so that they could bomb Lebanon and Palestine. For Muslims seeing their brothers and sisters in Palestine dying everyday is terrible and frustrating. US Muslims feel the guilt, they work they pay the taxes and their taxes are spent on these wars, so called war on terrorism to kill our beloved muslim brothers and sisters.

US Muslims does not want to change America, no need for anything to be removed. Muslims want US to be just. Nobody hates the freedom of US as repeatedly mentioned by G.Bush. In fact nobody cares about the freedom of US. What Muslims care is that US should stop supporting Terrorist State of Israel. Stop killing innocent women and children. Stop putting innocent muslims in the prisons under the pretext of war on terrorism.

Terrorism breeds terrorism, as long as US won't stop killing Muslims it should not expect terrorists to stop plotting attacks to US. It is that simple.

Hate. Intolerance. The stereotyping and generalizing of us as violent, oppressing people. The support of the killing of our people overseas, the support of the theft of our holy lands. We want these to stop.
