Sigh... well... Eli seems to have the whole thing figured out... I'm almost afraid to post anything.
I am wondering more what you mean by "will spread", since the Embassies of the U.S. have been targets for just about every group that hates America for at least the past 100 years... although it has become a popular sport in some circles, during the past 10 years.
To seriously answer your question... YES... it will become worse and more frequent. This is why so many diplomatic missions in so many countries are making the families of the government workers, move out of those countries and back to the U.S.

America has no embassies anywhere, you mean the United States.
You see There is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.
It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesian
Now, will the attacks on United Statesian embassies spread? yes of course! and not only to the embassies but to anything US owned and/or US associated. If they can't get access to United Statesian targets due to our security efforts they will target those that are associated with us, much like they did in Spain or Britain. They will isolate us from the world in this manner. In Spain the government that had sided with us was outed from power in the next elections and the new one withdrew quickly after the bombings. In England the PM has already resigned and it is due to his association with Bush. The same practice will prove very fruitfull for them and extremely costly for us.

Go first liberate Washington from the Jewish occupancy America. Reconsider your policies America otherwise result is is front of you. Try to find the root-causes of terror. A Palestinian boy who's whole family has been killed by Israel, will he sit still, no he will shove something up...that Israel will feel in its throat as well as the US.

You may be too young to remember the last 30 years well, but attacking embassies is an extremely popular pasttime.
