im form the philippines and i have a cat.. unfortunately, her breath usually wreaks.. hahaha.. where can i most probably get catnip (even buy one if i have to). cause most pet owners dont know what catnip is someone even said it was a toy.. thanks..

Catnip is an herb, related to marijuana. You can usually get it anywhere pet supplies are sold. It is often IN a cat toy. Sometimes you can find the actually plant so you can grow it continuously at home. Parsley is also good to give your cat if it has bad breath.

Do you want fresh or dried catnip? Try pet stores and gardening supply stores. You can get dried catnip and seeds online, but find out what your country's agricultural importation laws are, or you may end up with trouble from customs.
You can get toys that are filled with catnip, that is probably why someone said it was a toy.
By the way, catnip IS NOT related to marijuana, it is in the mint family. It makes cats "high" but when human consume it, there are no 'high' effects, just a feeling of calm similar to chamomile (manzanilla), if anything at all.

It is a plant, you could grow some for your cat.
Nepeta is a genus of about 250 species of flowering plants in the family Lamiaceae. The members of this group are known as catnips or catmints.
Catnip and catmints are mainly known for, and named after, the effects they have on cats, particularly domestic cats. Approximately two thirds of cats are susceptible to the effects of catnip, as the phenomenon is hereditary.
Catnip contains nepetalactone, a terpene, that is thought to mimic feline sex pheromones. Cats detect it through their vomeronasal organs. When cats sense the bruised leaves or stems of catnip, they will rub in it, roll over it, paw at it, chew it, lick it, leap about and purr. Some cats will also growl and meow. This reaction only lasts for a few minutes before the cat loses interest.[1] It takes up to two hours for the cat to "reset" and then it can come back to the catnip and have the same response as before. Young kittens and older cats are less likely to have a reaction to catnip but big cats, such as tigers, seem to be extremely sensitive to it. Cat toys can contain catnip and some cats love to play with them while others are not interested. Cat owners do not need to worry about allowing their cats access to catnip because there are, for the most part, no negative side effects to doing so. However, some cats become overly excited when exposed to catnip, so aging or obese cats with heart troubles should be kept away from it.

Well, catnip is in a lot of cat toys. You could easily find some online at any pet website, or even eBay. Since it's not sold near to where you live, you could also by a catnip plant and grow some. They have some to grow in pots that you could keep indoors, or some that you can plant outside. I threw a bag of catnip outside once that I thought was outdated and it started growing in my yard.

You can buy loose catnip at most pet stores. A lot of cat toys have catnip IN them, but catnip is a plant. Good Luck!

I don't know what you have there in the Philippines as far as stores but places like drug stores and pet stores sell it. Catnip itself is not a toy but some toys have catnip in them.

Just about anywhere. Pet stores, Wal-mart. You can even buy the seeds and grow it. Another trick. Catnip tea is suppose to be good for sore throats and allergies (if you're not allergic to it). You can also buy catnip tea and use that.

You can grown catnip in your garden or a pot. It is a member of the mint family so it can spread aggessively. Don't plant it among your favorite flowers. Pot would be better.
Some cats like it when it is growing in the garden and you can always cut some off and bring into the house to dry. Secure it with a clothespin and hang it up somewhere.

Check with your local pet store. Catnip is not a toy, but can be placed in a toy which will occupy your cat for a long period. It makes them very lovable and purry (meaning they will purr a lot). My cat absolutely loved it.
