i received a call a month ago regarding a student loan. i have always thought i received only grants. it has been over twenty years, and ive never received one word about this till now

Contact any of the credit agencies -- Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion. They'll know for sure, and will let you know exactly how much is owed, and to whom.
