I think for many Americans, 9/11 shattered whatever tentative grasp they had ever had on reality.

Let's see. We've spent ourselves to the point of insolvency fighting needless wars around the world. We have a president whose idea of "unity" is to call those who would have the temerity to disagree with him as "unpatriotic" at best, and "helping the enemy" at the worst. We've squandered all the good will the rest of the world gave us in those days after 9/11, and have quite possibly become more hated around the world, if at all possible. What do you think?

I think everything changed for America after this day the whole world saw horror not even the imagination could conjure up, i think for the first time America felt that they were really caught off guard which made it even worse, but there is a silent kind of strength. they can take the body, but they cant take the soul...God Bless America.

No. You are less secure as is the world - resulting from the actions of your current administration. Katrina also shows how weak you are and how little compassion the White House has for those who are less fortunate. Very Christian, ya think? Bush Jr. is a sad, delusional, fundamentalist Christian who cannot act on the compassion and love his religion proclaims it teaches.

No, It just made us more apprehensive and would do anything for protection even if it meant giving up some of our rights.
