For one thing I know EXACTLY how you feel. I work constantly and never get a chance to sit down. You need a vacation (I know, I know, easier said than done) whether it be a day or a few days, even several hours to yourself to do nothing (or sleep)
You can feel like you are depressed when you are over worked, over stressed, or not sleeping properly, you can either get an herbal mood stimulant to help with the stress if you cant get away or something to help you sleep if that is the problem. I will realize that one day of no stress will hold me over for a while. I run a day care 12 hours a day 5 X a week, have 4 children and a husband to take care of plus a disabled daughter, I never leave the house and run a bath and body business out of my home, so I definitely know how you feel. Some days are definitely harder than others, but you need to get rid of the stress level, or take something to help you handle it. It can lead to anxiety or panic attacks, or worst heart and health problems......
Take a "ME" day, and go get your hair and nails done (if you're a woman) go buy yourself a couple new outfits, and RELAX for a day, you will be surprised at how much it lifts your mood......GOOD LUCK!!!
Another thing, don't change your look drastically. If you try to be someone you're not, thats not good either, gradually change it, and you will find you can grow into a new style much easier...

If you are making changes in your life your Brian is in a depression because it misses the normal you used to have. It sounds to me like you are making positive changes for the better and I think you will be OK. Yes you could see a doctor but I think that time will help this. Try to do things that make you happy or find new things that you might enjoy. I have had similar feelings even though my stiuation may be different. Griving over loss comes in all shapes and sizes. A loss is anything that you do not do any more. I think you will be fine. And no matter what any one else tells you it is normal to point to feel like crying even when you are not really sad. Crying is a realese. We all carry so much around with us that sometimes we need to release the tension.

Beca, Good luck. Depression is a bastard. Don't fear the anti-depressants, if you really have a problem and have tried everything else, give them a shot. If you had a head ache, would you take an aspirin? If you were bleeding, would you use a bandage? If so, anti-depressants are no different. They are treatment for a chemical imbalance in the brain, and you are not a weak person for using them. The other alternative is exercise. Really working out (running, elliptical, something that gets your heart up) will enable to you relax and sleep better. It takes discipline and a few weeks to feel the results, but give it a shot. I wish you luck.

Your wavering, questioning self must be silenced at the still point of concentrated consciousness.
Try Buddhism. Or volunteering.
