usually it will stay for approximately 24 hours (if it is a moderate amount). water and dry food will help to absorb it and help it to pass through your system

okay to everyone saying 24 hours, good grief, stupidity runs rampid as you all repeat something you think might be right. The above answers regarding specific amounts and it taking an hour for those to cler your system, thats correct. Obviously the more you have the longer, just think every drink you have takes an hour. If you are buzzed and wanna know when you can leave after you stop drinking, eat a lot of bread etc and I'd say about 3-4 hours if you dont want a DUI

There's this rule called the "zero kinetic rule" - it can be explained in it's true, complicated way or it can be summed up this way -- if you don't feel any "buzz" or effect whatsoever, it is not in your system anymore - in other words - your body has metabolized the ethanol. For most people, this works out to about 2 hours for every 1 oz of hard alcohol / one glass of wine/ one beer (but that depends on what you've eaten, how hydrated you are, etc., etc.).

Depends on how much you drink. They say a glass of beer, I believe 8-16 ounces stays in your system for about an hour. This also applies to one mixed drink.

At least a day. And if you're a regular consumer of mass quanitites of alcohol (especially hard liquor) then everyone around you gets to experience the "lovely" fragrance of toxic alcohol poison leaking through your skin pores constantly.
It's a "delightful" sour acrid smell that enhances the their pasty grey and mushy skin.

8 oz beer, 6 oz wine or 2 oz. liquor.... the body takes exactly 1 hour to process and excrete . You can find that info at your docs office or at your local chapter of A.A.
