If his name appears in the Birth Certificate you do not need to prove it, but if you are taking him to court and he says he's not the dad, they will need a paternity test.

If his name is on the birth certificate, you do not need to have a DNA test done. However, since you aren't married, if the father goes back to contest the paternity for any reason, then, under the circumstances, a paternity test would be ordered.

If the father admits paternity and his name is on the birth certificate, that's all you need.

if he admits he's the father, then whats the point? They only force DNA tests to the fathers who deny them being the parent. Good for you for standing up for whats right. Make that sucker pay as much as you can make him.

If he admits it that is all you should need. At least that is what my lawyer say's...I'm going through the same thing.

no thats the proble if he says he is he has to pay even if they later find out he is not he still may have to pay!!!
