yeah it is kind of bad because every time you wash it you wash out some of your hairs natural oils and minerals. and the more you wash it the more of the greasy oil it produces making it go greasy quickly! vicious circle i know! if it goes greasy quickly, try a shampoo for greasy hair. I know what you mean about the side fringe thing, i have EXACTLY the same problem. try not to run your fingers through it and grip it back every once in a while. i've found that helps. the straightening thing might not be great for your hair if you do it every day so either go without doing itm try some new styles that mean you can tie your hair up and it'll still look good or put something on your hair to protect it against the straighteners and keep it straighter for longer. hope that helps!

i have exactly the same problem and, so it seems, exactly the same hairstyle, though i wash my hair every other day (just can't be bothered to do it every day). if my fringe gets greasy before the rest of my hair i wash it separately, without the conditioner. use only shampoo for oily/greasy hair that says it can be used every day. avoid hairspray and other styling products and don't brush it or touch it too much (i've found that that makes it get greasy more quickly), and when you wash it make sure you've washed the shampoo and conditioner out really well. hope this helps.

If you do wash it everyday, use a LIGHT shampoo and conditioner. They should be basic like Suave clarifying. That way you are not drying your hair out constantly with botanicals. Or bogging it down. Just use a basic clarifier to strip the oils and add nothing else. The conditioner should also be simple and just moisturize the hair. If your hair is getting damaged you need to switch to a product that is better. Also if you don't have good water, you can "damage" your hair by buildup from minerals in the water if you shower too much. Again, with that, use a product that will get rid of those minerals.

Yes, very bad. Especially the blow drying and straightening. Washing your hair everyday increases the pores in your scalp to go into overdrive, and produce more oils to compensate for the loss. Blow drying also causes the same thing, as does straightening. I wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week, and not always with conditioner, as this can block the pores.

The best way to get your hair back to normal condition, is to leave it unwashed for a good few weeks, so it can regulate itself. I know it sounds disgusting, but it will be worth it. The other thing I could suggest, is to cut down on the washing to maybe once every other day, and cut out the blow drying. I never blow dry, not even when I am going out. I don't even own a hair dryer for that reason. I have dry hair as it is, and would hate to make it worse.

washing your hair every day takes out all your hairs natural moisture, which can cause your hair to become dry and brittle, especially if you straighten your hair every day too. try cutting back to every 2 or 3 days...if you find that your fringe gets a bit greasy then just wash that part of your hair, or you can try a little bit of talc which soaks up all the excess grease!

washing your hair every day causes your body to make more of the oils that make your hair naturally healthy, which is probably why you find it gets 'greasy' quickly. if you cut down on your washing, it should get less greasy in a week or two!

Hello,

I do believe that washing your hair everyday is bad for your hair. I know that if you wash too much it will wash all your natural goodness and minerals away and make your hair too dry, weak and brittle (even though when you use hair products, your hair seems OK, lots of hair products are not always the answer.)Maybe you should try to wash it every other day, This is what I tend to do now as I used to wash my hair every day.

Hope this bit of info may help.

Shampooing your hair every day IS damaging to it, and blow-drying/straightening it is even more so. However, you can avoid the so-called "greasiness" (and have generally more manageable hair,) by rinsing any styling products out of your hair daily with water, and then conditioning and styling it as usual. If you feel that you MUST straighten or blow-dry your hair, make sure you use protective conditioning products before doing so to prevent further damage. I shampoo my own hair approximately every other day, although I do not straighten or blow-dry it, so you'll just have to find out what works for you. Good luck!

I would think that it's bad for your hair to keep washing and styling it. Maybe that's what's causing some of the grease. Your hair has it's own nutrients and oils and it can't get dirty in the sapce of 24 hours! Why not try washing every 2 days, I reckons that's frequent enough. Or book yourself an appointment with a hairdresser to get a good cut and some professional advice on how to manage, treat and style your hair.

some people say that it is, an some dont, my hair dresser hardly ever washes her hair, and it always looks amazin! she washes it about once every 6 weeks, but her hair is straight anyway so she dont need to straighten it, you can have ur hair chemically straightened, but i dont know if thatll do it more damage, just go into a few hairdressers an ask for their opinions, an wich ever u get most of, go with that x
