I wanted to open an ebay account to sell some stuff but I am younger than 18 so I was going to have my dad use his credit card, but I was wondering if they actually charge your credit card and when you sell something do they send you a check or does the money you on your credit card? thanks.

They do not charge your credit car. What you do is set up a paypal account. If you wish you can have the pay pal account linked to your bank account. When people pay you for your items have them pay you using pay pal account. YOu can set up a balance with your pay pal account and add more monies to it when needed to pay ebay for your seller fees. The winning bidder can pay you through pay pal and that will deposit into your pay pal account as well. Also you can have your monies in your pay pal account deposited to your bank account if you wish, that way you never actually need to use your dad's credit card, or have to wrorry about any charges showing up on your dads card.
This is the way I handle my ebay account that way if i ever choose to buy something from ebay as well i already have money in my pay pal account that i can use and don't ahve to use my credit card.

Hope that helps

No, they do not charge the card. That's just to be used as proof that you are over 18, since you need to be to obtain a credit card. The best thing is to also open a Pay-Pal account. Pay-Pal is Ebay's payment method. Here's how it works. You open a Pay-pal account and attach that account to a credit card or checking account. When you sell something, you advertise that you accept Pay-Pal, and the money goes straight into that account. No checks, no cash, just direct deposit. Let's say you're selling an old soccer ball, and I win the auction for $10.00. On the winning bidder page that I recieve, there is an option to use Pay-Pal. I click that link and since I'm set up already it opens my account with all the info from your auction. My billing and shipping info is also prefilled so there isn't much more to do. I simply approve the transaction and I'm done.

It depends what kind of payment you accept. The most common is PayPal, which is basically an electronic transfer of funds from one person's credit card. Have your Dad help you set it up. People can send you checks or money orders if you accept them as your form of payment for the items you are selling.

They charge your credit card for each listing and fee based on the sale price (their fee).

When you sell something, you can get payment anyway you choose (check, money order). Most people use paypal or a similar service.
