A pint of water before bed always helps.
Plenty of vitamin C (either supplements or fruit) and water the next day.
Of course another way is to cut down on drinking by drinking a pint of water between each alcoholic drink.
Alcohol upsets your sleep patterns so you usually loose about 3 hours of sleep from aheavy night out so the best way to combat this is to go to bed an hour early each night for a few days afterward.
Also, hair of the dog is never a good option and no matter how much you crave greasy food, it only delays any hangover feelings you have. They will all come flooding back as soon as your body as processed the food.
These tips will only help- they are NOT A CURE.

People, please stop bitchin. If this guy wants to get hammered at the weekend then fair play and you should grow up and leave this person be, they didnt ask your opinion on their drinking habbits.

Vodka is the answer my friend, it inhibits the body from metabolising the by products of alcohol when is is broken down.

Drink plenty of water, I mean like 3 or 4 pints, and have a bloody mary in the morning followed by a good breakfast when it settles down.

Also watch what you drink, the rule is the darker the drink the worse the hangover. Say no to port, clear spirits are your friend and avoid cider (getting drunk on it, drinking to enjoy the taste is fine), I learnt the hard way.

TV programme Brainiac did a check on this and it seemed that drinking a substantial amount of water before going to sleep eliminated a hangover.

I guess that if you drink a glass or two of water during the evening's drinking session, that might save you having to get up in the night to go to the loo!

Sorry, not a cure, but a preventative, which might be more helpful?

This is a harsh answer but it definitely works (although if you have many hangovers then you need to cut back on the booze of course). You need to force youself out of bed really early, a good couple of hours before you really want to get up and walk about in the fresh air, drink plenty of water and force some food down you. Don't be tempted to go back to bed because you will get a hang-over then. You have to work through it before it really gets you.

There's no such animal, unfortunately. Alcohol will metabolize in the system at a set rate, and just shy of a lot of exercise (which you probably don't feel like doing at the moment), there's not much alternative except waiting it out.

Cold packs on the back of your neck will restrict some of the blood flow and may help with the headache. A good OTC anti-nausea pill will cut down on the queasy stomach, and drinking plenty of water will also cut down on some of the symptoms.

Other than that, your only friend is time.

Yes have some bread and milk before you go out, and make sure when you get back drink atleast 1 pint of water and again have some bread. In the morning have beans on toast (if your in uk) with some tomatoes and mushrooms some good fruit juice! digest that then do some form of exercise.
It really does work!
Enjoy and have some fun

Yes,, take 3 or 4 aspirin before you go out drinking,, then take 3 or 4 more when you get home,,(if you can keep them down), then when you wake up,, take another round of aspirin and you should be pretty much hangover proofed!

ignore the "stop drinking" people - that'll get rid of some headaches :-P

As for the hangover - make sure to drink lots of water while drinking liqour - it won't always completely prevent a hangover, but at the very least it will make them more manageable.
