No...it wasn't suicide. Most people didn't "get" what he was trying to teach them....and most still don't today. He tried to TELL them that we are ALL part of the Universal Source...(God)...we are ALL "sons and daughters" of God, and when we inhabit our earthly physical body, living on an earthly physical plane, it is not who and what we really are...and that while we're here on earth, living in a body (my father has many houses), we are here to use our gift of free will to travel down certain paths, making choices and learning .
You have to realize that the concept of us actually being a "spirit" that really doesn't need a body to exist, was a difficult one for people in those days to grasp. (It still is for many!) He finally chose to SHOW them what he meant, by allowing his body to go through what a normal person would not have been able to survive, only to "spiritually" come back, proving that the real essence of who we are never really "dies". He already knew that he was going to have to do this, long before he started irritating the church leaders, etc.
You need to do some serious studying of religions of the world (which is totally different from spirituality) if you really want to learn. You'll find out how things have been changed and corrupted to fit each church leaders' personal needs.
Keep in mind, when you study, that religions are created and organized by MAN, and are guided by man. Whenever man becomes involved, corruption eventually follows, due to greed, and want of power and control. Spirituality is God created and God guided. It has everything to do with pure, unconditional love, and has nothing to do with anything negative, including negative emotions, which include hate, revenge, envy, anger, and especially fear. Fear is a negative word....and it's one that is created by man in order to control the masses. Anytime you're told that something negative will happen to you because you do or don't (or won't) do something, you should know that this is NOT from the Universal Source. God does not punish you....YOU punish yourself because of your own, free will choices.

Jesus knew what his destiny might want to be and certain he willingly and in love pick to die for the sake of you, me and everyone else. in basic terms as a loving be sure, might want to sacrifice themselves if confronted with a decision between their personal existence, or that of their personal children, so too did he. I realize that many human beings, understandably do not draw close or trust the cost of precisely who Jesus develop into and is, why he did die on the go. it really is often forgotten and in basic terms as major to attain that he develop into not defeated by employing death, as he develop into resurrected. the sorrowful difficulty is, that some human beings under no circumstances easily ever take a even as to truthfully study each and every of the info for themselves, determining on in basic terms to mock or distort the info. John 15:13 there's no more effective love than to position down one’s existence for one’s pals.

No, it would be obedience. Remember he was acquiescing to the will of the Father. His death was technically a substitutionary one. In other words dying in the place of another. Also he didn't take his own life he simply refused to resist being put to death. Therefore his death cannot be considered a suicide but rather a sacrifice.

YES!!!!! This is what Ive been saying for weeks on this site!!!
Furthermore, Christians teach that God is Jesus - they are one and the same. In that case, God then sent himself to die for mankind. Suicide is suicide - it does not matter how God suceeded in having himself sacrificed (via homicide) - the very fact that he condemned himself in the form of Jesus to die on the cross is suicide. Therefore, Jesus burns in hell.
But thats okay Mr. T...you and I shall burn in Hell with Jesus, Ghandi and Buddah, while Christians share hell with the likes of Jeffrey Dahmer, the cannibalistic gay man that converted to Christianity and accepted Jesus as his saviour....

NO. It was sacrifice. Its all based on your perception. If you are sincere and really try to see what was going on you will see that suicide is quite different.
Remember he pleaded with the father...but was obedient "never the less, not my will but thy will be done."
I pray for you to understand, and if you really are looking to understand...and praying just doesnt seem to work for you...contact me.I refuse to try to "Convert you" but I will give you my understanding and experience of whatever you ask.
sincerely

He did not kill himself. He was killed. CHRIST knew that the evil of men would not tolerate the goodness of God walking among them and he knew they would seek to murder him. It does not take a genius to know that. That is the nature of man; to kill what he does not understand. He loved us enough to lay down his life so we can be forgiven for our sins. Jesus was the ultimate atonement. With his resurrection, we know he is who he says he is, THE SON OF GOD!
Be blessed and may the love of God penetrate your heart and give you peace.

I like this question and now that you brought it up I guess it was suicide so it should say he committed suicide for our sins. He also manipulated people into killing him so he is an accessory to murder.

Our Lord didn't die by his own hand. He offered himself for the sins of mankind. I often wonder why he bothered with the world as it is.
