Christians think we cannot be saved `til we have "heard the word of GOD", so if a man lived a pure and good life in total isolation without so much as a thought of God. No love for God. No respect for God.
where would he go when he died

I have no religious beliefs, but I would hope that to lead a good life, to be kind and true to people, would count more.

You are contradicting the word of God. For one, the Word of God says this " and the gospel will be preached to all nations then the end will come. ". This means that there is no one who will not hear the gospel and so forth. If one dies before hearing the gospel, I would assume he's young and will be with the Lord. If not, then I will assume he has heard the gospel since that's what the bible says. The bible will be preached to everyone. With the technology of today, it is impossible for anyone not to hear the gospel. We have radio, tv, and internet. The bottom line is God is trying to get people to heaven. But some people don't want to go. It's not that they want to go to hell. Only an idiot would actually want to go to hell. And if they do say that, they'd change their minds quick. The fact is, people just don't want to go to heaven. They want to live life on earth to the fullest and deny a Godly life. God will not just say " hey come on go to heaven " one time. What did he do with the Israelites? How many prophets did he send to warn them of the coming judgments if they didn't repent? How many warnings has he sent them? You think he won't do the same for every human being with eternal hell fire hanging within the balance here? Everyone will have a chance to accept the gospel or not. There will be NO excuses before God. Besides the excuse that you denied the truth and you didn't know. But that excuse is refuted because God has made the truth plain to everyone. And anyone who denies it is going straight to hell. I don't care if you're a freaking hermit, all have sinned. And all will be held accountable for their sins unless they are washed away by the blood of the Lamb.

If the man lived in total isolation he would have no knowledge of God and therefore be immune to the Petty jealousies, foibles, and heresies of the accumulated christian brethren residing elsewhere. He would not have to meet any mankind crafted standard, or be approved by any committee. Living totally alone, he would be free to conduct himself as he chose on any day he chose without any concern of disapproval by others. His standards of goodness would be his own, and not someone elses.

same as everyone else who is not born again of God, he would die, spend some time in the grave, and then when the resurrection of the just and unjust comes along, face god and answer for his life.

Those who are born again have already faced God and been absolved of the past. They have had the slate wiped clean by the blood of Christ and are righteous before God.

But if this man confessed with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and beleived in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he would be born again of God and saved from the rest of it.
