why wouldnt it be ok? america is the land of the free after all. i say no worries all the time. i guess its just personal preference. i wasnt even aware that it was "strictly aussie" until today cuz so many people say it. is it ok for the aussies to say howdy? isnt that american?

Is the phrase "No worries" like "No problem?"

It used to bother me, but now it doesn't. The person making the statement is saying everything is o.k. and the task before him/her is not a problem.

I kind of like it- "No worries." Makes me feel o.k.

We all belong to the same species. Why shouldn't Americans adopt useful phrases like this from their neighbors down under?

Yes, although it's a little strange for that phrase to come out of our mouths. "No problem" is more our thing, whereas "No worries" seems to me more of a British or Australian thing.

But I suppose you hang around enough Brits or Aussies, and it kind of rubs off on you.

Yes, it's a perfectly cromulent statement.
