It is interesting question because a King rode a donkey in times of peace and a horse in times of war. Also, Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem, which completed one of the many prophesies about him. Also, Jesus is depicted to ride a white horse in the book of Revelations when he comes to judge the earth. Interesting huh?

The Holy Bible says, a young donkey also known as a colt.

Why not look up the word in a greek bible? That will give you a definitive answer. The KJV translated it as a.s.s but that doesn't mean that that was the best or most literal translation.
