There was this bar in New Orleans for like 50 years, Nick's Original Big Train Bar, right across the street from the Dixie Brewery.

The now-deceased owner was Nick Castrogiovanni who made ridiculous drinks and drink names long before the fad was popular. Some of his most famous concoctions are common world-wide today with many people taking credit, but those who went to Tulane University in the 1950s, 60s and 70s know it was Nick that created them all.

Sex on the Beach
Atomic Bomb
12 Italian Virgins in the back seat of a Volkswagen
Slippery Nipple
Kermit's Middle Leg
Pink Lip's of Death

The list goes on and it's been document by more than one historian that he was the father of the crazy drink name.

Dixie Beer was long marketed as Dixie 45 because Nick told the brewmaster it had the kick of a Colt 45. the malt-liquor later stole the name and was unsuccessfully sued for it.

I remember back in the 1970s when I was in high school (yes, high school) you could get into Nick's if you looked at least 16, 18 being the legal age of consumption.

As long as the sun was up, you could buy a full keg ----15 gallons---of stale Dixie Beer to share with your buds for $15 (a fresh keg cost like $45). All kegs were picked up at sundown and only mixed drinks were served after dark. At around 7 pm on a Friday night, the parking lot outside Nick's smelled like vomit and stale beer. Good Times!

It might not be the craziest, but the Screaming Orgasm certainly sounds like the most appetising.
