I’ve been Having MASSIVE back spasms. It hurts so much I can hardly move. I cant get to a hospital because of work and im moving in 4 days and have to bear 3-5 hour car rides plus caring all my stuff all over…. Besides the obvious answer of “take it easy” is there any advice on medicating? I’m on 1000mg (or whatever) of ibuprofen and 2 Aleve every 4-6 hours or so. My sis is getting me some mussel relaters tonight so that should help… any one else?

Join the club that is my question. I have been taking Doans pills for years and that helps but only for four hours. And it gets costly. But it works. I am 72 yr. of age . You are taking 4 pills this is 2 at 4to6 hours. Try it it works.

I have 2 major back surgeries, the last one i had my lumber (lower back) fused.......so i have muscle spasms..now there are a number of medications out there.....they one that really helped the most was SOMA, but it is a sedative and alot of dr.'s don't like to prescibe it, plus it is addictive so now i am on a med called Skelaxin 800 mg. every 12 hrs., it seems to be helping, it's not as great as SOMA but Soma will leave you kind of goofy and messed up feeling........if i were you i would go to a back specialist and get an MRI, be sure you get an MRI, not just an x-ray b/c an MRI can tell you alot more than just an x-ray. Get to a dr. ASAP. Would you rather have your LIFE or your JOB? Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS. When you are riding in a car take a pillow, it will make the trip easier........i don't think the meds you are on are strong enough........i had to move from Houston to Austin just 1 MONTH after my lumber surgery.........it wasn't easy but i'm doing ok now with my back.....it still hurts and i'm on pain meds but it's better than a yr. ago.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ice! 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. Please get someone else to help you with your move if you possibly can, it could make it worse. I don't know if you've ever tried chiropractors, but mine really helps me out when my back is screwed up. But go get some ice on it NOW.

Yeah muscle relaxers, but don't drive on them. I take good hot baths.
