The United States Embassy was attacked by terrorists and 4 people were killed, 11 wounded. All Americans are safe.

One of the dead is a member of the Syrian Anti Terrorism Force.

The words Bush has used when referring to Syria lately, one would be led to believe the Syrians would have opened the gate to our embassy so the attack would have been successful ... but NO! The Syrians did their job and Took The HIT to protect Americans ! Again, Bush lies to us and people die for us. The actions of the Syrians to protect Americans speaks louder than Bush's rhetoric ... do you agree?

As has been pointed out above, we have an embassy in Damascus so we have already at least some semblance of diplomatic relations with the country. I must say though, given Bush's rhetoric of late I hate to admit it but I wouldn't have been sure if someone asked me "does the US have an embassy in Damascus?".
I don't take quite the tack you seem to...that once again Bush lied to us and people died for us...
Sadly people in Syria died doing their duty to protect other people. Apparently it is very very unusual for attacks of any kind to happen inside Syria because people live in fear of the rulers there.
It would be nice if the US could adopt a policy of keeping clear lines of communication open with at the very least all nations with whom we have diplomatic relations!
Even if behind closed doors we were plotting like mad to overthrow every regime we didn't like, what would it hurt to make those regimes feel like we didn't think they were the ugly kid at the party and instead tried to better understand what their hopes and dreams are, what they care about? Are we going to invade Syria soon too?! It's enough to make you miss the cold war, innit?

We have diplomatic relations with Syria. As two people have pointed out, we have an embassy there. America does not believe that Syria is doing enough to stop terrorists, such as Hezbollah, which they support.

Obviously not all Syrians support terror, but the government definitely has ties. Lucky for us, the terrorists who attacked the embassy are hated by the Syrian government as well. It is also important to note that the attack occured on Syrian soil. Syria supports terrorists, but I am sure it doesn't want to have an attack on its soil. Also, not stopping the attack would seriously stain US-Syrian relations much farther than they already are.

I just see this question as a spin from the left, leaving out key important factors such as the syrians who died trying to attack the complex. Syria IS a terrorist state, because not only does it's government support terrorist organizations, it also sides with Iran who preaches total annihalation of Israel and the United States. We could sit here all day and point out the reasons Syria is a terrorist state, but it is so obvious that it isn't really worth anybody's time.

The American embassies are an extension of the United States of America. This means they are American soil. Since The embassy in Damascus was attacked, should we expect the armed forces to be retaliating any time soon?

you're ignorant, Fox has stated that. it rather is not the assaults on Benghazi. there have been many this twelve months that weren't stated on with the help of Fox on the time they handed off on your factor is null and void. could you ask why we are paying lots interest to the typhoon Sandy as quickly as we've rain for all time and published dates for that? the factor is that 4 adult men have been murdered as a preplaned terrorist attack. Obama knew it replaced into coming and al Qaeda replaced into getting worse yet they nevertheless lied, refused to furnish extra protection and while they sent a message asserting their have been 10 al Qaeda communities that have been interior the section and that they might no longer with stand yet another attack they bumped off all the protection. Then while the attack got here and Amb Stevens sent an emial to 3 hundred people which contains the region room the help the asked for replaced into advised to stand down no longer as quickly as yet thrice. additionally they advised the two seals that helped Amb Stevens to stand down yet they refused to take heed to. This and extra handed off and Obama lied approximately all of it. So your assaults ensue for all time is easy lack of expertise.
