The Harry Potter movies are most definitely not about God. In the bible it states that magic and sorcery are wrong. And this is what the movies are about.

There was an article written by "The Onion" a couple years ago that said J.K. Rowling was a satanist who was using her writing to attract innocent little children to the black arts. Someone was horrified by this article, copied it into an e-mail, and sent it to his/her friends with exhortations to stop buying Ms. Rowling's books. The e-mail has been going from inbox to inbox ever since, and has led to a more generalized urban myth that the books are satanist propaganda.
What the original e-mailer didn't realize is that "The Onion" is a satirical newspaper. Their articles are not based in fact, and are intended as humor. This becomes immediately obvious to anyone who takes even a cursory look at their webpage.
So, someone at The Onion noticed that some Christians didn't like witches being the protagonists in a certain series of books, and wrote an article intended to poke humor at their paranoia. Instead, its been used to fuel their paranoia.

No. She is a member of the Church of Scotland. She is a great fan of the writings of C.S. Lewis, who is famous for his views on Christianity. She has included a LOT of Christian imagery in her books.
Here is a website that analyzes the books in light of her Christian faith:
http://www.digital-disciple.com/harry_potter_granger.htm
"The success of the books certainly stunned Ms. Rowling, who claims earnestly she had no idea they would prove so popular. What must have been at least as surprising - and disappointing considering their sales - was that there was no interpretation ofthe book per se and no defense of the book from the position that it is a remarkably Christian book. Philosopher's Stone, despite its being a tale of the soul's purification, illumination, and perfection in Christ (written in the medieval language of spiritual alchemy) and heavy with traditional Christian symbols from the golden griffin to the Philosopher's Stone, was read by many as occult fantasy.
Ms. Rowling bristles at the Christian objections to her books, especially those that suggest she is a Satan worshipper."

Only in the eyes of uneducated, evangelical, right wing, conservative, Christians, everyone else just sees the books for what they are, FICTION. Given what's in the Bible, you'd think they understood the concept of FICTION, oh well, guess not.
