do not pop the blister-this will cause it to become open, exposing it to germs and increasing the risk of infection

wash it twice a day with mild soap and warm water. dove or ivory work best-soaps with dyes or perfumes will irritate the burn. after washing it-wrap it with gauze wrap-this will help keep it dry and protect it from infection.

once the blister opens itself, apply neosporin to it after washing. wrap it again with the gauze.

you can take ibuprofen for pain. take 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.

things to watch for that would require a trip to the doctor are:
-fever of 101 or higher
-the blister begins to drain green or yellowish brown color
-there is increased redness of swelling to the blister site

these are signs of infection and you'll need antibiotics to treat it.

Popping burn blisters is not recommended. Keep it covered with a dry sterile dressing that you change 3 times a day, and keep ice on it to reduce the pain.
Once the blister drains, you might put an antibiotic ointment on your dry sterile dressing, and wash it at least once a day in cool water. Keep an eye out for any sign of pus. If it gets infected, you'll need antibiotics.
This sounds like it was self-inflicted. Please don't do this any more. If someone else did this to you, that person is sadistic, and it would be best to avoid that person in the future.

Yes, it could lead to infection. A burn blister is a collection of fluid under the epidermis. If you rupture this outer layer of skin you provide a direct pathway into the underlying layers of skin and your body. Leave it alone and it will go away with time. Next time, be more careful with cigarettes.

any time you breach the epidermis, you risk exposure to infections. if you pop the blister, you will probably introduce bacteria to your system. Whether you suffer any ill effects depends on the type of bacteria and your immune system, but keep this in mind (and this is true) - within the last year, a man got a papercut from his airline ticket. By the time the plane touched down, necrotizing bacteria had infected his arm to the point that it had to be removed.

I'd say leave it so it doesn't get infected... Put some neosporin on it and cover it with a band-aid... I had a nasty cig burn on my inner thigh about 2 years ago I put the neosporin on it with the band-aid and it healed up just fine... I don't even have a scar...

You should not burst the blister as the site may become infected. Leave it alone to heal by itself...and...stay away from smokers in future..you know they can really damage your health!!

rub it down with rubbing alcohol, dab a little neosporin on it and cover it with a band aid.

dont forget to change the bandaid each day because the blister may burst and if it does just keep putting alcohol, neosporin and a fresh band aid on it.

if you did pop hte blister with a needle it won't hurt you it's going to get all the pus out, and after you do that put some neosporan on and the a bandade after that.

this best thing to do is poke a very small pin hole in it and slowly let it drain. DO NOT PEEL THE SKIN OFF. then press the skin down afterits gone so that the skin can reform to its nautural state. and it will get well in notime. let air get to it and it will heal alottttttttt faster.

i would just leave it for now. See if it gets any better, then after a week or so, if you think it's a serious problem, (coz it could be..) see your doctor or GP and ask their advice.
