I work in a pretty small town and I run low on lunch options. We got the Chinese and fast foods, gas station fried chicken, etc....
But I was wondering if it would be considered weird to eat at the hospital? No one I know is laid up there, but hospitals offer a pretty good cafeteria style lunch lineup.
Has anyone ever eaten at the hospital just for a change of venue?

It is not wierd and is probably one of the better values for food available. Hospital kitchens have to live up to incredibly strict standards for cleanliness so the risk of food poisoning is fairly low. And most hospital cafeterias now offer a grill menu which often is just as good as any fast food place and usually costs alot less. I would recommend going during the earlier lunch time hours, like 11 to 1130...after that, hospital staff start in and you could have a very long wait to get your food.

No, that is not weird at all. Some of the hospital cafeteria food is pretty good. I have eaten there before, since I was bored with the other places.

Hate to admit it, but yes. I used to work in sales, and called on some doctors and clinics at the hospital. I had a reason to be there, but to eat there? Seemed sick with all the "hospital food" comments.
Did it anyway. U of MN Hospital food was pretty good!

Well hospital cafeterias are not all bad. Cheaper option maybe! By brother in law works at one and my sister goes there alot to eat to save money. She doesn't get a discount like her hubby, but she says its cheaper than anywhere else.

All I know is that the hospital near me has the BEST chicken strips I have ever eaten. LOL

I've never gone to eat there without having visited a patient there.
Although, we DID talk about how good the food was. (the hospital was recently redone)
They had a grill right there, where the chef grilled your burger, sandwich, etc. right in front of you. It was GOOOOOOD food too!!

No. That is not weird. If you like the food they serve .. then go ahead and eat away ! No reason to feel guilty or strange about that one. Good Luck ! :)

what? eat where you want to. yeah it's a lil' weird, but eat there if you like the food. I would never go there unless I had to though.

no but I agree good value...have eaten there while waiting for tests etc...
why not...your money is as good as anyones...why would they care
