Yes. It's very common. Your dentist will want you to bite down on it to put pressure on the site the tooth was removed from. This helps the area to stop bleeding.

Yes, I had my four wisdom teeth out and had to use gauze for two days. Mine bled a lot. More than average. I used tea bags off-on too to help stop the bleeding. Good luck!

Nope. I didn't even go through any pain or swelling, even though they cut into my jaw. Some people have side effects, some don't.

You'll wear gauze for maybe an hour or so after the pull. After that you'll get sick of it...let your saliva do the work after that.

And for the love of all things holy, don't use a straw for about a week. The pain can be ungoldy.

Yes. The gauze was soaked in eugenol (a medicine made from cloves) and put in the holes left from my extracted wisdom teeth.

for the first few hours depending on how bad you bleed. I know it took me forever for the numbness to wear off to eat anything. I chewed the hell out of my mouth but other then that it wasn't bad, and you don't even realize the gauze is there.

Yep--Dr. De Sade packed them with gauze. They got infected anyway, especially the two impacted ones he had broken into pieces with a hammer and chisel and removed chunk by chunk one fun-filled afternoon. Cheeks looked like I was chipmunking a softball. Ah, the memories.

Yes. It takes a day or so to recover and then you should be more or less okay. Just remember to keep cleaning the wound out!
