You're right.
You don't have the power to forgive unless God orders you to undergo crucifixion and you agree and die from it.
Either Jesus doesn't forgive us until judgment day, or he is our LAWYER at the trial and it isn't he job to forgive, or he's been deafened by the clowns asking his forgiveness for the last 1975 years.
In either case, you got out of that what you should have gotten out of it, which was nothing.
If you repent, you will be forgiven ON JUDGMENT DAY. Isn't that great salesmanship --it can't be disproven as long as the human race survives. It's the promise that pays the bills for the clergy.

Sometimes we get in such a hurry in our prayers, that we don't wait around to see if God has an answer for us! Contrary to popular belief, prayer isn't supposed to give you a "touchy goody feeling" all the time. Sometimes you receive a feeling of peace immediately, but often time passes before the peace comes. Don't give up on prayer because you didn't receive the 'feeling' you were expecting - the Bible says we are to "pray without ceasing" and no, that doesn't mean 24/7 - it does mean to be in a prayerful mindset - that at a moments notice you would breathe a prayer for yourself or someone else. I'm glad you are upset that you seemingly received nothing, that means you aren't satisfied! Keep praying, keep seeking, and one day SOON you will find the peace you desire. God bless!

John 17:3 in each and every translation of the Bible says that there are 2, the real God(Psalms 80 3:18 KJV "Jehovah") and the single Jehovah sent forth (Jesus Christ) Col a million:13-15 says Jesus is the 1st off creation. John 20:17 Jesus says he has a Father while he says MY Father, Jesus additionally says he has a God while he mentioned MY God. in case you will believe what the Bible says, then it is sparkling to those organic in heart, it is sparkling as dirt to those that have been blinded by the God of this methodology of issues, devil(2 C0 4:4)

Now T,
I've followed you and your activity here for weeks. I sincerely doubt that you sought God out sincerely. That behavior doesn't reflect any of your questions or answers. The very way you worded this very question indicates that you most likely asked with scoff in your heart. Don't test your God.
I'm not sure how love equals sickness, but hey, you are using Mr. T as your Avatar and he is a Christian. So,… confusion probably never seems to be far behind I'm sure.

Who gave you a "forgive me prayer?" What may I ask is that composed of? Forgive sins? And after they are forgiven - what??? Is it a tract? Does it use quotes/verses from the Bible?
BTW- I'm not sick, I just want to know what you were told. Was the prayer about salvation?

It isn't like God is going to instantly surround you with Gold and Silver, ya know. Salvation isn't a feeling, it's a knowing, a faith in the WORD OF GOD that says, "By grace ye are saved through FAITH and not that of yourselves it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8) And where do we get faith? Well, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)
Read your Bible. Just get the Bible out and start reading it, cover to cover, word for word and you will understand the true gift of salvation.
Salvation is on God's terms, in His way. You were placing expectations on Him. He doesn't take orders from us. He doesn't work that way. Does any parent take orders from their child?
God did not grant you are ideas of salvation because He wants you to understand that what HE HAS FOR YOU IS FAR GREATER THAN ANYTHING YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE.
In placing expectations on God, you limit your blessings from Him. He wants you to just let Him be the parent here. He knows a little bit more about this than we do. Just stop fighting Him so much and you might actually begin to SEE.

I had exactly the same experience, I was assured I would be filled with holy spirit and come to know the love of Jesus, and there was nothing there, not a thing.I was genuinely asking for forgiveness etc, exactly as I had been told to do, and I meant it, but still got nothing. That to me says there is no God, because I was being 100% genuine and he still ignored me.

Did you truly mean it with everything inside of you, and do you believe. if you believe you will recieve. the sinners prayer is just a bunch of words it isn't how you get saved. you have to believe that Jesus died on the cross and that he rose again. you have believe that he is three in one, the Father the Spirt and the Son. THe prayer can be said by anyone but it will only mean something if you believe.

Can you see a feeling?
Why do you expect to receive one then?
I thought you had no respect for what you can't see?
God only comes, in the ways that we can comprehend. He does not come with roses to those with allergies.
If you meant it (which I doubt) He will come and he will teach you, if you really want to see it you will open yourself to it. If all you want is to say words for the contradictory proof of your disbelief.
Would you answer?
The good thing is... You asked and God's word does not return void unto Him. He will watch over it to perform it.
Now unfortunately, when you die... were all going to have to listen to you yapping on and on about how "You still don't believe it, I don't care what you say, this isin't heaven it is a dream."
Don't worry, we will all slap you as often as needed to help you "Wake up!"
LOL... {{{{{{{{{{ JIBBA JABBA}}}}}}}}} Welcome to the flock babe!
Your part in this grand drama will be... (drum roll)
DOUBTING THOMAS!

If you truly feel sorry and ask for forgiveness, then you are forgiven. No fireworks, no flashing lights. TRUE confession lifts the heaviness of burden. Just saying the words without meaning is meaningLESS. If you don't love someone but say I LOVE YOU to them it is not going to make you feel love for them in your heart.
