I am here. From many of the responses I have read, there are many others. However, this would not replace a 12 step meeting or a discussion with a sponsor. The opinions you may receive may not be from recovery people. Once in a while, I think it may shed light on those who are misinformed, but not a substitute for the 12 step program. There are too many people who blow hot air on matters they don't understand.

No this is not the place to go to discuss anything. If you have a question about recovery, you really should speak with your sponsor because you never know who you may be talking to online.

I'd suggest you join a Yahoo group or two.
I'm list owner of without_aa, a group of about 100. We talk about recovery from both substances AND 12step groups:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/without_aa/
A much larger, straight-forward, non-AA recovery group is SOS (Save OurSelves):
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/sossaveourselves/
I couldn't get sober in AA, I've maintained 5+ years, mostly by using online recovery.
