Why do you always tell those of us who do not believe in Jesus to Read? Most of us DO read, and it has led us to question and/or reject this story. Many of you seem only to read one book. If you read some others, you might understand the world around yu a bit better.

Let me see if I got this right:
You tell someone that you do not believe in Jesus and they say read?
Are you saying that you do not believe he ever existed on this earth? well, there certainly are many many books on the subject, so, I guess you could say that "read" in that context is a reasonable response. Of course, just a simple "read" is a bit vague, I agree.
Or, are you saying that you do not believe in his deity? Well, again, there are many many books, not just The Bible, that discuss this topic, so again, in that context, "read" would be a reasonable response, although, again a bit vague.
Maybe if you did take that advice and read some other books, you would understand the world around you a bit better, too, pumpkin! :)

Are you seeking for answeres or do you already "know" where you stand. If your are truly searching for the Truth, if you read the bible something in what you read will touch your heart and resinate as truth. If you have made up your mind. it will do nothing for you. A good book to read (that is not the bible) is
The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus by Lee Strobel (Paperback - Sep 1, 1998)
He actually set out to disprove Jesus but ended up a christian after he did all the investigation... Hope this helps

You asked, "Why do you...". Who is YOU in that question? I ain't told you to do nothing and I am Christian, so am I still lumped in the YOU category in this question. I'm sure that you read a lot. I'm sure most atheist read a lot and that's what's keeping them from believing because all this stuff in their heads won't let them believe. I don't just read one book, I have knowledge outside the bible. But, I see the things in the bible coming to past in my life so therefore I believe what's in it to be fact. God has changed my life. I don't know where I would be right now if God wasn't in it. There's been times when I felt like giving up but God is my strength and carries me when I fall. I don't read fiction because all that fantasy stuff is not going to help me in this life. The bible is very real, believe it or not. God bless.

Nah, read whatever you want. Unless it's going to point you in the wrong direction (start sinning). But if you can control yourself then it shouldn't be a problem. Personally I'd stick to good books that wont fill your mind with nonsence. I dont really have any suggestions for certain titles though, sorry. But goodluck.

Just as it's wrong for us to suggest you haven't read the Bible, it's wrong for you to suggest we have only read the Bible. I've read enough books to fill a library, including the Koran and other "holy" books; medical texts; books of criminal and contractual law; fiction; non-fiction; etc.
I must point out, though, that many of the books I've read are not understandable unless the reader has a solid knowledge of the subject matter. This includes the Bible, which is universally misunderstood by non-believers.

We Christians read more than you think, child, you obviously did not understand (nor did you want to understand) what you read, how can you reject a God that loved you enough to give a law with a loop-hole (His Son, Jesus Christ)?

I don't tell people to read unless they are looking for something and I answer them and they still don't understand,but few times have I said read the bible. I have studied many religions and that is why I am Christian and feel it is the right religion for me.

I've read the Bible, Koran, Book of Mormon and writings of Buddha, pagans, Asatru, the RCC and a myriad of others. This in addition to studying cults and other religions. I've only been doing this for 36 years so, there is still much to learn.

I get this often. Christians dont seem to realise that its reading and studying the bible that will help make someone an unbeliever.
I also get accused of taking verses out of context , like I am supposed to quote the entire passage, when all they do is quote verse. If anything Iwould know more about the times and history etc surrounding the bible than many of them.
I think christians should take christianity IN CONTEXT, and STUDY by READING their own history and canon.

And your question is? What do you care if other people believe in Jesus? And the one book I seriously doubt you've read is the Bible. When you've read that book cover to cover then you'll be at least partially prepared to discuss the existence of Jesus.
