Homophobic means that you have a 'fear of similar [things to yourself]', literally.
'Homosexual' means 'sex with the same sex'. The same Greek prefix, meaning 'the same' is found in 'homogenous', 'homeopathy', 'homostatic' and many other words!
The meanings have got confused because in Latin, 'homo' means 'man', so 'homophobic' is often used to mean 'fear of men' (the proper word would be 'androphobic'.) Also, because of the common usage of 'homosexual' to mean sex between males, the 'homo-' prefix has acquired some confused meanings.
'Homophobic' really has nothing to do with being gay. If anything, it means that (if you are a man) you don't like the company of men. It could equally well apply to someone who didn't like the company of their own race, colour, religion, politics or whatever ... or could not stand seeing two things the same together!
So, no! It doesn't mean you are gay! Often, though, people are nervous of their sexuality and people (mostly males) who have a tendency to like people of their own sex react against the idea that they might be gay by avoiding men. You need to be honest with yourself and understand that God made you the way you are and that anyone who tells you, for whatever reason, that it is not good to be the way you were created (as distinct from any habit you may have acquired) is WRONG!
People who lack self-assurance are often less able to withstand the arguments of others and so can sometimes be easily led or manipulated.

Phobia = an unreasonable fear of(whatever).
I do not understand people who are but it doesn't mean they are homosexual themselves necessarily
