If you decide your themes should be centered around other cultures you should research them and see who has interesting traditions. Finland, Sweden, and Norway have some interesting traditions and the food is good to. You can always mix your themes, like do a cruse to Thailand or something like that. You could even do theme from a deprived country and also raise money for that same country. Base the food and activities around their traditions.

I once went to a Christmas party that was "tacky Christmas sweater" themed. Like those really horrible sweaters in the stores that have like a Christmas tree on it with huge dangling ornament hanging off of it. It was great...people looked all sorts of ridiculous.

how about an around-the-world theme? Then you could have all different kinds of foods (american, jamaican, mexican, italian, japanese, etc.) with foods from all over the world.

you could include foods like:
Egg Rolls
Enchiladas
Manicotti
Jerked Chicken bites

How about Mexican and Cuban, or Native American? Or how about a "Decorate a gingerbread man" party?
