I think it's a natural thing rather than something bad, but I was wondering why it (the mucus) is red tinged or a pink color whenever I end up gagging in the morning rather than the usual light yellow or white.....for one thing I know it is not coming from my teeth and i have to draw mucus from the back of my throat rather than the usual spit where blood from the teeth would show up..did that make any sence?

If it's not a sinus problem it could be a serious lung condition. Don't fool around with this one. See a doctor just to be on the safe side.

well there are several explinations..one if you have your tonsils..they could be infected, i have horrible tonsils and some times they bleed, it could be your nose bleeds at night because it is too try then when you wake up it is blood tinged/ same thing with sinuses, and drippage...or if your coughing up from deep in your chest, it could be a problem with your lungs..

It could be your sinus's , this time of year lots of allergies arise,sinus gets infected, and can bleed a little, check on this.
