He is in an assisted living facility and is not getting enough to eat. He called me this morning to tell me he got a bowl of jello and a cup of coffee for breakfast. This is not enough.

I am a certified nurses aide in a nursing home and a liquid diet normally means broths or clear soups. Don't try tomato or chicken noodle at first, and you could give him Gatorade and 7 up. Jello and pudding is always good. And if you feel he is losing weight or not getting enough to eat, check with his doctor and see if there is anything he may have that he would like better than blan food and offer it to him. But above all keep a eye on his weight loss, because alot of homes don't. Hope this help alittle and hope he is okay.

He can't eat food if he's on a liquid diet. Just liquids. Try runny porridge. I hope he gets better soon.

They aren't going to let him starve.
You need to know and understand why they have him on a liquid diet.
Is it because they are concerned about what he consumes not staying down?
Does it have to do with infection?
Does he have a good swallowing reflex?
There are things to consider here, and I repeat ... they are not going to let him starve.
