Nope, in 1969 we did send 6, and of those, just four landed on the moon.

On July 20th, 1969; Apollo 11 landed on the "Sea of Tranquility", Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin became the first human beings to walk on the moon. Collins waited for them orbiting the moon.

On November 18th 1969; Apollo 12 landed on the "Sea of Storms", just a few yards away from the probe "Surveyor III" sent to the Moon in April 1967. Bean waited in lunar orbit while Astronauts Conrad and Gordon retreived it, and brought it back to earth, for our scientists to study the effect of long term exposure to the lunar enviroment on it.

Have you been living under a rock? or maybe in Cuba or Iran?

Yes we did, but the trip to the moon had less to do with being on the surface and more to do with demonstrating repeatable usage of high capability technology, which is why we never had to go back. This was in the heat of the cold war and the peripheral technological gains were enoromous for nukes and a host of other areas. No nation would be considered seriously if it only performed the feat once, which is why we kept returning for some time. The moon presented a great free advertisement as well since it is such a universally identifiable target. At some point the gains were outweighed by the costs and the program was scrapped, but the technology was put to good use.

China is looking at sending people up there eventually, but their intent has more to do with H3 than defense capabilities. However, both would give them huge technical muscle, which is probably why we're re-aiming for it.

Yes, we went to the moon in 1969. We had the capability, and we still do.

But the inevitable question must be asked: Why? We really have no purpose in going again, and that is why we do not pursue exploring the moon anymore.

But then why did we do it in the first place? The political climate was different. The cold war was red hot, and we were all worried about the threat of a nuclear attack by the communists. The moon, and space in general was a landmark to be conquered. We needed to prove we could do it. there was little point to it, but to prove that we could. America made it to the moon and thusly we proved that we were technologically superior to Russia.

We don't have any major enemies like Russia anymore- therefore we aren't thriving to go to mars.

the Cold war was a crazy time.

YES i believe we did... three guys went to the space and two landed on the moon, the problem is, why doesnt anyone want to explore the dark side of the moon, maybe theres life on that side, its sooo dark that nothing can be seen except on its floor. If the earth and the moon are the same shape and the earth isnt flat, its round then the moon is round so if someone were to land and just drive all the way around it... we can explore it with our problems of global warming maybe this can help us out by puttin some stuff on the moon

Well, I didn't personally, but I believe NASA sent three; Mr Armstrong, Mr Aldrin and Mr Collins!

The British later made a single moon landing, as part of a private venture project by a man called Wallace and his dog, Grommit.

Not only did the USA (not "we", it wasn't the whole world) put a man on the moon in 1969, the denials are full of logic holes you could launch a Saturn V through.

Yup, we sure did. Several times, actually. The first manned lunar landing was in July of 1969 -- the 20th specifically. The 6th and final visit was on my 20th birthday on December 11, 1972.

Amazing that people even ask the question. Certainly, we went to the moon in 1969....and found that it was made of cheese.
