Hi Bubbles!
Exercises don't flatten your stomach. Getting rid of unwanted body fat does. First you need to lose some body fat, then you can add some abdominal exercises for best results.
To lose body fat from your stomach you need to lose it all over, since spot reduction is a myth only attainable through liposuction.
To lose this body fat, I would suggest you keep your calories at or below 1500 calories per day and then stay active. This will do the trick if you stick to it. Once you get your tummy to the level you want, slightly raise your calories or decrease your activity to a point where you don't gain or lose weight - this is called weight maintenance.
This will preserve your new look.
I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.
Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

Do enough everyday until you're sore afterwards, usually for beginners its around 50-75 crunches. The soreness means your breaking down the muscle and the only thing the muscle can do is to grow back stronger than it was. If you do at least 100 crunches a day believe me you will see an improvement within the first month.

Pushups will build strength in your chest, not your tummy. And Doing sit ups alone won't flatten it. You are gonna have to burn off some fat which means doing excercises to burn calories and changing your eating habits so that you burn more calories than you take in.

Sit ups and push ups aren't the right exercises for your tummy. You want crunches and reverse crunches.

That's right, genetically female bodies will store fat in the tummy areas for babymaking, and many women will have a little pooch regardless of the body fat mass index.
