In order to create light before the sun was made, would the light have to come from another place?

COOL! What a terrific question! Anything that makes people think bigger than they are used to thinking is a good thing.

Here's another question- Before the "let there be light", who said it was "dark"? And could the word "light" have actually meant "knowledge" (as in enLIGHTen)?

Nope. Scientists have that one all figured out. We call it the Big Bang. God said 'Let there be light', and BANG! there was light. And energy, and particles, and the laws of the universe, all within a few fractions of a second. Read 'A Brief History of Time' by Steven Hawking for more info on the subject.

Why can't someting come from nothing--because we humans haven't figured out how to do it yet?

He thought, visualize & spoke & that all that is needed. no prism needed. He is so glorious, He radiate with light just like the movies depictions.
