Of the two, I would prefer to know which questions to ask. Having the answers themselves is all well and good, but much more is learned en route to "the answer" if one knows what questions to ask. The Answers are data; the Questions lead to understanding.

Thank you for your time.

Knowing the right questions to ask is still not quite as good as knowing the answers, because you still need to find the right person to ask those questions to.

Speaking as a sales rep... If we ask the right questions we make a lot more money than if we have the answers..

No one cares how much you know, until they know you can help them.

So...knowing the right questions is a lot better.

I'll take the answers to my own questions, thank you. Allowing you to tell me which questions I'm "allowed" to ask means that you're running interference in my search for the facts.

he who knows what he knows and he who knows what he does not know is typical of one who knows. the more you find out the more you find out you don't know. the questions will never stop and the answers will never end as there will always be something new to ask and find answers to each and every day as long as man's curiosity exists.

I would choose the latter.
It`s easy to write an answer but it`s difficult to formulate a good question.
