He probably is just wondering what they were like and why it didn't work out. He also is probably curious about your past. It's kind of strange actually because most guys and girls don't wanna hear about anyone's ex.

He could be insecure. He may want to know how experienced you are or in his own mind he could be wondering if they have gotten farther with you than he has. He maybe wondering how he rates in comparison with your other boyfriends. Remember, guys have a competitive nature and he might not have your best interest in mind 100% of the time. It should be good enough that he is your current boyfriend. If you want to disarm him. Ask about his old girl friends and put him on the defensive.

He is probably just trying to get an idea of what memories he is up against. He may be fishing to see if he is anything like your old boyfriends, and if you like him more than you did any of them. It is not unusual, girls do it too. Really, you should be flattered in a way.

He's probably insecure and wants to know how you rate your current relationship versus those in the past. He probably feels deep down that he's not good enough for you, and that one of your x-s is.

He is just making sure that you have moved on once you dumped them. It's also a sign to see if you still have any feelings for them and that you won't dump him for either on of them. So be cool. Don't your problem if dudes in general are insecure by nature.

He may feel that knowing them will help him in the relationship. Perhaps he doesn't want to make the same mistakes, etc. So he may be learning more about you through them.

He just wants to make sure hes better than them and does not make any of the same stupid mistakes that they made. Take this as flattery.. It means he really likes you.

Probably he wants to know if you're still thinking of your ex or if your ex still want to get back to you--jealousy, or he just wants to know what your ex--s did for you so he can do better.
