It is impossible!!! I was born in Wales and studied Welsh for 2 years and still can't speak a word!! But them I am useless at languages. I have an English uncle who can speak pretty good welsh after a year of evening classes. I think once you have got your head around the pronounciation you are half way there!
Go for it!

Monolinguistic English people have awful trouble learning welsh. This is due to pronounciation and the fact that language learning isn't a skill valued in uk schools.

in most respects welsh isn't any harder to learn than any other language, although mutations (where words beginning with certain letters "mutate" to become different letters depending upon the context and the preceding word) do cause some problems.

Neither Welsh nor Irish are fairly complicated languages. the two have some primitive Indo_Aryan aspects which could holiday up people wide-unfold purely with cutting-edge ecu languages - yet once you have mastered Korean those shouldn't difficulty you. the only you will locate least complicated is the only you have maximum motivation to income. in case you have get right of entry to to S4C (Welsh-language television) or some Welsh-speaking acquaintances, Welsh would be much less complicated. in case you spend holiday journeys interior the Gaeltacht, or have get right of entry to to RTE - Irish might have the sting. the variations between North and South Welsh are lots exaggerated - usually it rather is purely a remember of a few dozen hassle-free vocabulary words. you should learn whichever style your people talk (or the only you may get the perfect getting to understand components in).
