I've given my life to Jesus as a young child, and also received the Holy Spirit through Baptism in my early 20s. But only recently did I understand the impact of this. It's not about saying "the prayer" or doing the right steps, but the heartfelt impact of Jesus in my life.

I'm still a Christian under construction, but the Holy Spirit does become my counselor. For instance, today, I'm under a lot of stress due to my packed schedule (and I really should not be on here right now) and God revealed to me that my stress is due to taking on things. Also He showed me that it's because I don't practice gentleness. That may seem strange, but when I stopped yelling at the kids to get moving and took it more gently with them, it created a more peaceful environment for myself and everyone else.

So this is only just a snapshot of my life, but each day, God shows me things to work on and in the process, he helps me to become fashioned in his image as His child.

Everyday I try to be better in areas that my spirituality, my relationship with God, is lacking. One way to do this is to pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts will help me to "fine tune" and hopefully, with much effort, rid most of the sin from my life. My life is constantly changing through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, bu I can tell it will be a long hard battle.

Which one are you talking about Jesus or the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit came into my life the day I was saved. He comforts me and helps me to understand the word of God, but I do not worship the Holy Spirit I worship Jesus Christ.

Unlike the first person that answered, I will use my own words. Yes I gave my life to Jesus several years ago. I no longer visit the bars and get drunk and endanger other peoples life while driving home. There are more reasons to accept Him than to deny Him. 1st answerer, please do not send novels as answers unless you wrote it. I'm not getting down on you because of your answer, even though I disagree with it, but the length of it.

No I have not given my life to Jesus. I have not devoted my life to Jesus. I do not believe Jesus has anything of significance to offer. The holy spirit is just a construct of human imagination.

Since I have not subscribed to the Delusion of the God system. My life is based in reality. It is a great feeling and I implore everyone to do it.

I gave my life to Jesus and received the holy spirit at the age of 16... then I found out he is nothing but a fraud and ran... I then found the wonderful path of life called Paganism and it has changed my life immensely... I have been healing people for the last 2 years with my gifts given to me by the Lord (Aries) and the Lady (Isis)...

My life is my own.

Imagining Jesus never helped me. It was only when I stopped asking for help & started learning what to do myself that I made any progress.

If your Jesus image helps you, great.

That first scholarly answer knocks my socks off! What a well presented response!!

I did, many many years ago. It brought me hope and comfort through the rough times. Even began studying for the ministry and never passed up a chance to witness to the Good News.

Now I find more hope and comfort in my atheism. Go figure.
