But its the only "bad" think I drink. I do not drink pop/soda and if I have tea its always unsweet. I also drink lots of water. I just can't seem to let go of the choc. milk. Is it really that bad for me?

You look Great, judging by your Avatar Photo. I'd suggest as long as you're Active, do plenty of Walking/Exercise (that's skip using the Car, walk or Jog whenever you can - do the occasional situp and/or pushups when you wake up in the morning) then you should be content with eating and drinking whatever you like. Moderation is of course the key. *8v)
Chocolate is Great, I love it! I eat heaps - gives me the Energy to Jog 10km to Work. Milk ensures your bones will be able to sustain the impacts. ENJOY IT!! *8vD

Calorie Table for Chocolate Milk
Chocolate Milk (1 cup)
Chocolate milk, regular 220
Chocolate milk, low fat 170
Chocolate milk, fat-free 160
Chocolate milk, 2% 190
Chocolate milk, 1% 150

There are 8 cups in a 1/2 gallon, so you are drinking 1200 -1760 calories a day of chocolate milk. That is the amount of an entire day's calories for some people!! For goodness sakes, give up the chocolate milk or limit yourself to 1 CUP a day!!

I'm sure within a couple of weeks or a month you will definitly notice a difference in your weight. The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you are consuming. You will never lose weight drinking that many calories per day.

Hi Christina!

No problem! I too love chocolate milk. For starters, I would switch to fat free chocolate milk (using skim).

More important is that you keep your daily calories under 1500 per day, which is the key to losing weight. Thus, it is not what you eat, but how many calories you consume.

For best response, you want to spread your 1500 calories over five meals of about 300 calories each. Also, try to stay active, go for walks, shop, play, etc.

Thus, if you stay below 1500 calories drinking chocolate milk and stay away from other calories, you can still lose body fat (weight). Eventually you may want to balance out your diet a little though.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

My guess is it's a fad thing you're doing right now. Two months down the road it will be something else that peaks your appetite.

Just remember, that old adage - "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips" is true. You'll need to give up most of the other fatty things you eat to make up for that much milk - no fried foods, no sodas, no chips, reduce bread products, no pork products and reduce meat items to 3oz-5oz per day, no yogurt, cheese, or ice cream.

Cold Chocolate milk is great - enjoy

Not necessarily-- calcium is good and you can stick to skim milk (fat free) and fat free chocolate syrup to make it. You should try to cut down some, though, maybe by half. Try using smaller cups and sipping it instead of chugging, if that's what you do. I know your pain here-- I'm a chocaholic and chocolate milk is a sweet pleasure! You're just lucky you don't seem to prefer more variety in your chocolate-- I can't live without choices of brownies, cakes, cookies and pies, all loaded with chocolate!

Buy SKIM milk and mix it with chocolate instead of buying WHOLE milk which is at least 4% fat. This will help. Cut down on the amount by 1/2. You should not gain any more doing this.

I was the shorter, plumper girl. I'd been about 190, 200, most of my adult life. And I met my goal, ten weeks ahead of schedule. And feeling empowered, I decided to drop even lower. I never imagined that I would be 125 pounds, and go from a size 18 to a size 2.

If you cant cut the choco milk, just sudtract the extra calories and fat from another meal. Dont eat less and make sure to have 5-6 small meals per day to keep youre appetite and metabolism at a constant rate. Just balance it out

Find some of the "Hood" low carb choc milk (Wal Mart carries it). It is the best choc milk I've ever had ... and I really like Hersey's!
