Get a book called The Homebrewers Bible. Lots of great information, recipes, step-by-step instructions.

Go to samuel Adams.com I think they have some stuff you can buy to make your own beer. They have some kind of home brew contest somewhere Boston maybe anywho I seen them advertise it on TV.
