Pal, if your son's height is the only thing you have to worry about then you should get on your knees and thank Almighty God. Children die every day from horrific illnessess and you are worried about how tall your kid is?
My 8 year old son did not walk until he was 18 months old and he is as healthy and normal as can be. I thank the Lord for giving me this gift called Jimmy.
People continue to grow into their 20's so stop worrying about it. Your concerns, however careful you are to avoid it, will transfer to your child and effect his self esteem.
Find something else to focus on and praise him for anything you can find.

Four years old is a little young to be worrying about this isn't it?
He is only 2" shorter you say, which is not really that much.
Give him a good few years and then see, we don't all grow at the same time or the same age.
Some people are just destined to be short - nothing wrong with that.
Other than that just make sure he eats well, with a balanced diet - plenty of protein, calcium etc... if you are really worried, talk to you health visitor/pediatrician/doctor about it.

I feel that you shouldn't try to increase your son's height, but instead learn to accept his height which will in turn help him learn to accept his height as well. I know that it is probably hard for your son because he may get teased by children a lot. He will need a lot of nurturing and he's going to look to you for it. It's your job to explain to him that everyone is special and different and that he's not odd because he is a bit shorter than the other kids. If it's not something that's life threatening, don't try to fix it. Everyone should learn to love and accept themselves for who they are. God didn't make a mistake on anyone!

Most of it is genetic, but continue to feed him healthy food and lots of milk or anything with calcium. I was short when I was younger, when I was 12 I shot right up past all of my classmates.

2 inches is nothing..my daughter is 6 inches shorter then some of her classmates. His genes pretty much determine how tall he is.
The milk advise is horrible. Milk is basically SUGAR and not healthy in larger amounts for anybody. It's the perfect food only for baby cows. Calcium for bones can be found in tons of other foods and calcium fortified fruit juices.

Some kids grow later. I wouldn't worry about it, so long as he is eating healthy food. Better to be short then overweight. If you are still concerned, talk to your doctor. What you view as "short" may be totally normal.

Just keep him healthy. If he is a little short then he is a little short. You shouldn't be worried about 2" anyways. He will be fine.

not all kids grow at the same rate, let him grow at his rate there isnt anything that you can do to make him grow faster, if he wasnt on the growth chart for his age there maybe something they would do for him but they would of picked up a problem along time ago, so just relax and let him be a boy

He will be fine just keep feeding him properly and when his body is ready to grow it will. Ya never know he might be 6' tall someday. As long as he is happy and healthy dont worry.
