You scream she wasn't the wife but doesn't the biblical account of the wedding at Cana (John 2) [1] actually, the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene? I am not referring to novels - but the bible. The Virgin Mary advising the servants to do what Jesus tells them, is exactly what any jewish mother would do for her son's wedding, and according to Jewish tradtion the mother is in charge of the servants at a wedding. So does this suggest Mary and Jesus got hooked up? Why is this such a problem for Christians? Can't they believe the son of God took a wife?

Gosh - I qoute the bible and some dumb slow Christian still thinks I am reffing tothe Da Vinci Code. I didn't read the Code nor see the movie. I am asking a question because back then it was unheard of to NOT BE MARRIED at the time. And I can't figure out why Christians can't accept Jesus getting married? Like it hurts him or something. Talk about extremists....

Jesus would have been considered very strange in his time and culture to not be married by his age. The fact that he was not married would have been mentioned in the Bible. As nothing was said about his marital status I think you can assume he was married. Long after he died, patriarchal men wrote the bible. They feared womens power, did not want them to have any, so they decided that Mary was a prostitute since they could not leave her out of the story all together.

Based on the existing evidence, it's far easier to make a case for Mary Magdalene being Jesus' aunt, the wife of Joseph of Arimathea.
The actions of the Virgin Mary were also what any good friend or relative would do, under the circumstances.
Do you really think that God could run out of wine at his very own wedding, and then ask his mother what it has to do with him?
If the wedding at Cana was indeed something as critically important as the wedding of Jesus, you can be sure that scripture would have recorded it as such.
It would likely be called the Wedding of Jesus, and not the Wedding at Cana.
Read the passage again carefully (and SLOWLY) and you'll find a number of things in there that prove your theory is all wet.

If you read the whole passage you can determine for yourself that Jesus was not the one getting married that day.
John 2:2-4 ~ Now both Jesus and His discipleds were INVITED to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "THEY have no wine." Jesus said to her, "Woman, WHAT DOES YOUR CONCERN HAVE TO DO WITH ME? My hour has not yet come."
I capitalized the items that make it quite obvious that it was not the wedding of Jesus. He would not have been INVITED to his own wedding. Mother Mary would not have said "THEY" have no wine. And if it was His wedding, then he should be concerned that he had no wine, but he questions why it should concern him. All are obvious factors to point out that you are mistaken. And I'm pretty sure that Mary Magdalene didn't meet Jesus until after the wedding at Cana.

1 Christ was a guest at the wedding.
2 It is possible this could have been the marriage of a brother or other family member. After all, one sister or cousin may ask help from another . . . thus a reason for his mother to become involved.
3 I think it is very possible he and Mary Magdalene could have been married. I just don't think this passage was a record of their wedding. Besides, married or unmarried, I don't think it changes who He was or what He came to do.
Any why do you think Christians are slower than any other group?

This si so silly. Jesus had not even met Mary Magdalene at that time, so of course it wasn't His own wedding. Also marriage is NOT A SIN. So if Jesus was married there would be no reason for it to be covered up by the Bible, it would not compromise His perfection. I think ppl just want to make a drama out of this silly fiction book when it lacks real evidence, its all just a bunch of theories that have no evidence against them. That doesn't make them true. Bigfoot doesn't have any evidence that he doesn't exist, does that automatically make him real?

Because with all things in the Bible, there would be other scriptures to back up this theory and there is nothing of the sort with reference to Jesus getting married.
The story of Cana is about the first miracle of Jesus, when he turned the water into wine and this was an act which would catapult his many miracles and healings and so forth for the next three years or so .

If so, why would they have run out of wine? Wouldn't Jesus have known how much was needed in the first place?
But if Jesus was married, why isn't it mentioned when Paul said everyone should have a wife. Would he have not used Jesus as an example?
I don't have a problem with Jesus being married, except it isn't mentioned that He was.

Jesus didn't even know Mary Magdalene during the time of the wedding feast. It was His very first miracle, and He wasn't ready to start His ministry then. His mother asked him to help out a friend, you can help out a friend without marrying his sister.

"Why is it that many former Christians exchange into atheist after examining the bible?" i might ought to declare a huge component to that's the church homes' fault, as maximum church homes not at all instruct the "confusing" areas of the Bible, so while a individual gets to one in all those areas and sees that's massively diverse from the "sugar lined God" that they are taught approximately they have a tendency to reject the Bible and Christianity via fact they think of "how can God be loving, yet do all those issues". "Or, that some human beings, while attempting to hit upon information and help for the claims interior the bible, exchange into atheist." i've got not heard of that formerly, in spite of the undeniable fact that I unquestionably have heard the choice going on... (i.e. C.S. Lewis) "does not it look that examining the bible might deliver one closer with God?" with appropriate examining it does, the challenge is that persons tend to study what's declared yet proceed to be blind to the small print interior the story that the Bible does not point out, case in point the Bible does not communicate approximately how Baal (the "greatest" God interior the region that the Israelites had conquered) became worshiped by ability of putting a stay infant on a heated statue (genuinely cooking it alive) as a sacrifice

Jesus and his disciples was called to the wedding. Jesus was not called there to get married. Then if you read verse 9 the governor of the feast called the bridegroom. I think you reaching for something that isnt there. You are very unlearned.
