How can I find out if this is the case or just my paranoia? How can I keep protected without alienating all the sensitives in the local community?

search the web there are many spells for sale out there for many different results. they are not guaranteed to work but from a psychological standpoint they may help solve your problem. have you tried Prayer to THE DEITY and wearing or carrying a religious medal ?

What does it matter? Spell casting is just as ineffective as prayer. Nothing is going to happen to you that wouldn't have happened if they hadn't done their little chants. You are paranoid and superstitious.
