Points and levels help you keep tabs on how active you (and others) are on Yahoo! Answers. You get points for different types of actions, like answering a question. The more points you get, the higher your level.
You need 250 pts to get to level 2 and the best way to earn points is by answering questions and if you want to get quicker to an upper level, you better answer a question as best as you can so you can possibly be chosen as the best answer be given 10 points.
You can also vote for a best answer by clicking the "Discover" tab at the top which will give you 1 pt.
Keep in mind, asking a question costs 5 pts, but when you choose a best answer to your question, 3 points will be given back, so you basically lose 2 pts.

Keep a target much higher than the level 2.
Answer Qs with reasonable detail so that your answer gets selected as the Best one.
Ask less questions and concentrate on answering if you are level conscious, otherwise take it easy it is a good knowledge sharing site.
You do not need any body's help. You are already on it, but watch out, during past one week you have earned -22 points by asking more questions than answering.
Take it as a good pass-time and do not waste more time here if you are a student.

To get to the next level .. continue to answer questions ... level 2 starts @ 250 .. also make sure you vote for best answer because it will give you back 3 pts of the 5 pts you asked just now

well im at level 3 now what you have to do is ask and answer alot of questions and it also helps when you get the best answer because that is 10 points so just keep working on it and then you will be there at 2 good luck cc

U have to get enough points to advance to level 2 by answering questions and getting best answers.

I just got there. Just answer alot of questions and make sure you visit the site everyday. Each day you visit will give you 2 points. Each question you answer seriously and someone likes your answer and the pick your answer as best answer then you get 10 points. It takes time and work but you can get there. I did. Each time you ask a question they take away points.

10 points if your answer is chosen as best answer
Just keep on answering......if you reach the +200 you will reach level 2.
i need 30 more i will be up to level 2!
