Lock him out!

If you catch it doing it's business inside, yell NO NO NO and carry the puppy outside (it will stop peeing if it's peeing, but I don't think it will stop pooping).

WHen you walk it, have a few treats in your pocket so when he does go outside, you can priase hi (good peepee, good poopie etc..) and when he's done, give him a cookie as a reward.

Also, crate training the dog will help for when you can't supervise the puppy.

Also, while newspapers and puppy-pads are a common idea, this teaches the dog that it's OK to go to the bathroom inside the house, and you really don't want that. Also, what if it can't find the paper? It might try to find a substitute, like your check book (it's paper) or important documents...

The best way i found was to place newspaper on the floor, when your pup has returned to the same spot twice move it slightly towards the door, moving it each time the pup uses it, once you have reached the door and your pup has used it place it just outside the door watch your pup it will go to the door looking for the newspaper this is when you let it out.

Eventually you can get the pup to use one spot in your garden by using the same method, saving a lot of cleaning up

It took about a week for both of my dogs

Never shout at your pup if it has an accident

Keep an eye on your puppy and when it looks like it is about to do something put it outside. If it does it in the house show your disapproval by telling it off in a stern voice " naughty dog , bad boy".
When the puppy does it outside, where you want him to, give him loads of praise, hugs, and a treat, they get the message in a few short days, good luck !!!!!

Take the puppy out every two hours and then when it's big enough it will know to go outside. Do this until the puppy can walk and eat properly.

When we trained our dog we left our back door open so our puppy could roam around. If he looked like he was about to tinkle on the carpet, we yelled "NO", picked him up, and ran outside. If he went for a tinkle outside (and we'd seen of course) we gave him a treat. He got used to it very quickly. Plus take him for a walk (when he is old enough) quite regularly as the need to go at home will be diminished.

My mom takes our puppy out every few hours. I agree with other people be prepared for accidents. They are just babies and they are still learning the incorrect place and the correct place to do their business. In my opinion , if they understand where to go potty and deliberately do it inside then you tell them no. Trust me, I think they do it on purpose to seek attention. Me and my mom have gone through 4 times of training puppies.

Use a crate {cage} it is like thier own bedroom, they tend not to go in their own bed, then when you open the crate door take him outside right away saying go pee or something and give lots of praise when done. will not take long before total house trained. Good Luck

Put him out after he wakes from a nap, after he's been fed, when he gets excited before he goes to bed. Watch him, if he looks like he's getting ready to use your carpet as a toilet take him straight outside. When he starts to have a pee, tell him to pee, that way he will associate the word with the act and when he gets older you will be able to get him to go when its convenient to you. I have done this with my dogs and it makes life easier for you. Just stay alert, and he will soon be house trained

First get him used to going on sheets of newspaper, and reward him. Then you move the paper to the back door. After that, move the paper into the garden. Praise him when he goes outside.

Make sure you take him outside on regular basis so he learns to ask to go out and praise him if he go's when you are out. Also you can leave a sheet of news paper indoors with the smell of his tiddle on it then gradually move the paper outside always make sure the clean sheet has a little smell of his tiddle so he knows where to go
