I came to NL 3 yrs ago to study in university and must renew my visa every year. Last summer something unexpected happened and I had to relocate to BE but had no time to apply for a BE visa so I renewed my NL student visa and used that instead. This year I am going home. I realised that I had overstayed for almost two weeks and still need to be here another 4-6 weeks. What can I do to sort this out with the authorities (which one should I go to, BE or NL?) with the least amount of trouble?

Where are you from originally? If it's within the EU I don't think you have a problem. Was your passport stamped when you entered Belgium? If it's from outside I think it is best to visit your local commune in Belgium and ask. In my experience the Belgium civil servants are not interested in complicating their own lives by making a fuss. They will either tell you how to fix the problem or tell you not to worry about it.
