My son is also 2 years. Last time when he had fever, we were struggling to give him the antibiotic which was not tasting good. Finally, I tried mixing it with some fruit flavored yogurt and it worked.
First give a couple of spoonfuls of yogurt (not with the medicine), then give the one with medicine, then, continue giving a few more spoonfuls of yogurt immediately, as a reward.
Another thing that worked was that I handed over the medicine dose to him and he fed himself as a big boy.
You could also try using a dropper.

My son has recently developed the same problem. Usually what I do to get him to take his medicine is to firmly explain that "mommy wants you to get better. You don't want to be sick do you?" No child enjoys feeling that way. Also you could try a medicine dropper or what my son likes is those medicine dispensers that look like a spoon. I let him drink it down, add water, and tell him to take a drink after-wards. Depending on whether the medicine is over the counter or prescription, try giving him chewables, it may surprise you that he is ready for that and it will make medicine time less of a hassle for both of you! :)

I had to mix it with pudding or applesauce . I would take a spoon or two of the pudding or applesauce and hide the medicine in it and then my kids would take it. It also depends on what the medicine is for and if it is liquid or pill that can be powdered.

For kids like that i use those squishy plunger medicines, so you can squirt the medicine in his mouth directly. Have him open wide and slide the thing as far back along the side of his tongue as you can, he'll have to swallow when its that far back, just dont gag him. Follow it directly with a piece of cookie, or bread, or fruit, or SOMETHING he'll readily swallow.
And tell him to stop spitting it out. Just dont let him spit it back out, tell him he's not allowed to.

Sorry. Unless you give him no choice, but to take it and reprimand him for spitting it and making a mess, then it's your mess. A 2-yr old shouldn't be the one making the choices. Explain that he better take it because you will be very upset. Be very authoritive!

I completely sense for you. I as quickly as had to get a 2 365 days previous to take iron in a liquid suspension, and he or she purely had to take 3 ml and that i'm advantageous maximum of it ended up on my blouse each time. i think of it would be okay to mixture it in his milk or some thing yet i do no longer think of it would make that undesirable style pass away. perhaps you need to objective it with a particular manage like chocolate milk. you're waiting to separate up the dosage, too, like 3.5 ml each and every 4 hours extremely of seven each and every 8 hours. Ask the scientific expert. attempt a distinct medium. a good number of pharmacies will style it in yet in any different case for you. i be responsive to Shopko has a good number of flavors. perhaps you need to get some pills that ought to be overwhelmed and put in his applesauce, or now and lower back you will get drops that pass straight away in the ears. and that i be responsive to he remains little, yet practice him to take pills asap because of the fact then you definately won't ought to situation approximately this liquid drugs rubbish. Taking a tumbler of water with a tablet this is long gone in a cut up 2d is plenty greater suitable than a teaspoon of gross drugs. while i replaced into little, as quickly as I figured that out, i replaced into continuously advantageous to tell the scientific expert that i wanted pills and not liquid. I in no way took a liquid, different than cough syrup, after 4 years previous. stable success. I want i ought to be there to help.

Give him an ice pop right before. When he is halfway through tell him here and give him the medicine. He will not taste it much. Also, use the syringe you can get at the pharmacy. Just shoot it into his mouth quickly. Then hand him his pop back.

I'm not sure if you can mix it with juice or food - if so I'd suggest putting it in with his juice or apple sauce. Ask the pharmacist before doing so.
and remember - never tell a child medicine is candy.
Good luck!
