Here are some very excellent champagnes. Better than Dom or Cristal even.

Krug Brut Champagne
Charles Heidsieck Brut Champagne Millésimé
Philipponnat Brut Champagne Clos des Goisses
Perrier-Jouët Brut Champagne Fleur de Champagne Belle Epoque
Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne
Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne La Grande Dame

Red Ribbon, but I prefer CA wine.

Incidentally all you Cristal drinkers, last rating of that wine I saw was only about an 86. There are $8 bottles of CA bubbly rated higher than that.

Marketing, sheesh.

the best of the best is 'KRUG' but very expensive..
cristal is a very good one , like Dom perignon
veuve cliquot or ruinard are affordables good champagne
one of the worst to me is moet et chamdon
to 'auntcookie84' , asti spumante is not champagne..

I love veuve cliquot, can't really describe the taste other than crisp and bubbly, reminds me a bit of mown grass and crisp apples.

I like Asti Spumante...it's light and sweet. I don't care for dry champagne.
