people look weird seeing them so close up.

When you close your eyes and kiss, you can concentrate more on the feeling and sensation that you get of your lips touching and it is far more sensual and sweet. You can also respond to your partner better because you can feel their response to your kiss better, therefore, you both should enjoy it more.
"Open eye kissing" is more like when you give a friend or relative a little peck.

It would be really creepy to see someone with their eye balls wide open that close up. It is more sensual if your eyes are closed. You dont have to close them completely, just dont stare with big creeoy eye balls. Just nice soft sexy half way open eyes.
