See an MD???

You may just be getting sick. Swollen glands are the first sign of getting a cold. This usually goes away in a couple of days when it becomes a full blown cold. I also press on the sides of my throat to get blood flowing. That seems to help the soreness felt. I've also heard the thing that the guy above me said about eating something sour. I can't personally attest to that one though.

However, if it's lasted longer than 2 days, then it could be something else that needs an M.D.'s attention.

Consult a doctor.

I had this problem some 10 years ago, and it was so serious that I had lost my strength to walk and had to be sent to a hospital. After 2 specialist doctors (one my own doctor, and the other just as a referal for 2nd opinion) I had to remove a gland (forgotten name of the gland).

After a 4 months' rest, I could resume my normal jogging and continued as a badminton convenor/player apart from my very active lifestyle in sports.

Strongly recommend that you consult a doctor. Best of luck and health to you.

Swollen glands are an indication of infection. The swelling goes away when the jnfection is cured. So go to the doctor and get rid of the infection.

If this is a recurrent problem or if it persists more than three days, see a Dr. immediately for tests. It could be a serious problem and in most cases, cured by medication.

Go to a doc to determine what is wrong with you. It could be an infection and you'll need antibiotics, or it could be something else. ONly a doc can help you at this point.

If they are just below your jaw line,I found that if you place a hard,SOUR candy piece, just under your tongue,it will trigger your glands to release the "puss" (I know,....YUUUCK!) My doctor told me this way back in 1974.The candy I used was 'Charms' "sour apple".You can use any sour candy now.Just try to keep it under your told as long as possible, preferably, until it melts.
